Why premium rate numbers
Charge for calls
Let customers buy or use a service without an account, card registration or extra steps. They call the number, use the service and are charged according to your chosen model.
Charge per call, per minute or by separate invoice. Callers who withhold their caller ID can also call premium rate numbers.
Features
You manage the calls. We handle the billing.
A premium rate number needs to work as both a phone line and a payment method. Set the price, opening hours and destination, then track revenue and credits.
Pricing
Choose a fixed price per call or a per-minute rate. Use it for one-off purchases, advice or services priced by call duration.
Availability
Choose when the number is open. Set a regular schedule or open and close it manually.
Call routing
Choose where calls go. Change the destination as staffing, opening hours or your setup changes.
Reporting
Track calls, traffic and revenue in the customer portal. Issue credits when a call needs to be refunded.

You set the price
Choose the billing model that suits your service: a fixed price per call or a per-minute rate.

With per-minute billing, the total call charge can be up to SEK 1,500. With per-call billing, you can charge up to SEK 500 per call.

Separate invoice
Separate invoicing with Akova Pay
If you prefer to invoice customers separately, use Akova Pay. Customers can pay by separate invoice instead. On their first call, they provide their Swedish personal identity number. After the call, they receive an SMS with payment details.
Customers can pay with Swish, card or Bankgiro. On subsequent calls, they connect directly to the service.

When should we use a premium rate number?
Premium rate numbers let customers pay by phone for advice, support, digital content and other call-based services. They are useful when customers need to pay without creating an account, registering a card or completing a separate checkout.
Can we set our own price for a premium rate number?
Yes, within the rules and price limits for each market and billing model. You can usually choose a per-call or per-minute rate. Viatel helps you set the price, VAT rate, opening hours and call routing.
Can we set opening hours for a premium rate number?
Yes. You can schedule opening hours or open and close the service manually. Match availability to staffing, campaigns or specific periods when you want to receive and charge for calls.
How do we monitor a premium rate number?
Viatel's customer portal lets you view call statistics and revenue, manage call forwarding and opening hours, and issue credits. Use the reports to understand traffic, staffing needs and results.
